WPUMC Centennial Celebration

We have already contacted the neighborhood association to let them know of the celebration events that are coming up. We want to make extra efforts to reach out to our neighbors and community especially as we celebrate 100 years together. Our goal this year is to collect an additional 100 boxes of food, 100 mittens and gloves, and 100 children’s books to donate to our neighbors in need.

YUM – YUM – YUM ICE CREAM SOCIAL / FOOD DRIVE;   as part of our Centennial Celebration, we hosted a Food Drive/Ice Cream Social on July 10th. We collected 125 lbs. of food which was donated to Neighborhood House. Many thanks to all who helped and supplied the delicious cookies.

Centennial Tree planting ceremony to be determined.

NOVEMBER 14^, 2010, will we have our big celebration day inviting our past clergy, members, and choir members to sing in a Centennial Choir. Following the service we will have a reception and invite the Tears of Joy Puppeteers to perform for our children and adults.

This will be a fun busy year … a year to reach out to our neighbors, and a time for growth. Please plan to help whenever possible and attend the festivities! Banners will be placed in the front of our church announcing the Centennial Year and the various events as they happen.

 We are currently checking into the use of our property as a “Community Garden” next summer. The need is great!
